Gateway Portfolio Services is a separate function within The Haviland Group which provides investment portfolio advisory services to our clients. These services are separate from our standard Financial Affairs Management relationship.
Once the conceptual aspects of the investment strategy are completed and the Investment Policy Statement prepared, the client most often retains The Haviland Group to select, direct, coordinate and monitor portfolio managers who are charged with the responsibility of carrying out the directives of the client's Investment Policy Statement.
We maintain relationships with and serve, on behalf of our clients, as a "gateway" to many of Wall Street's most successful portfolio managers including:
- JPMorgan
- Northern Trust
- Eaton Vance
- North Road Capital Management
- Schwab
- Breckenridge
- Halsey Associates
- Bradley
- Lockwood
- Foster
- Sargent
We maintain a continuing and vigorous due diligence evaluative process for all recommended portfolio managers. For a portfolio manager to qualify to manage our client assets, a manager must undergo intense and continuing examination by us which focuses on investment style, investment discipline, personnel qualifications, experience and long-term performance.
Gateway Portfolio Services portfolios are initiated, coordinated, supervised and evaluated by The Haviland Group. In accordance with standards and expectations set in the client's Investment Policy Statement, each portfolio is continually monitored to ensure that risk and return statistics and portfolio operations are within reasonable parameters. Should any manager deviate without justification from expectations and directions, termination and replacement are quickly and easily accomplished.
Our clients enjoy the benefits of total and easy access to us and the ability to receive in-depth, meaningful reports on their portfolios. In addition, we meet with our clients regularly to address the issues of performance and to decide what rebalancing or repositioning may be warranted.
