 Benjamin Sams was named Managing Principal of The Haviland Group in 2006. In that role he directs and supervises the firm's operational and client service activities in addition to advising his varied client group. He is also an owner of the firm. Ben is widely recognized as one of the bright young stars in the financial management profession. Ben has extensive experience in providing financial affairs management advice to a broad spectrum of clients. His clients include physicians, business owners, dentists, attorneys and other professionals. Prior to joining The Haviland Group, Ben was employed by New York Life Insurance Company in Boston.
Ben's clients have complex financial issues and they highly value his significant expertise in helping them to objectively analyze these issues and to develop practical and effective solutions. Ben's special areas of expertise include estate planning, investment portfolio strategies, tax planning, cash flow management and business ownership planning.
Ben is a graduate of Connecticut College where he majored in History and Political Science and was a member of the College's soccer and track teams. Ben and his wife Hilary reside in Avon Connecticut and are the proud parents of twins Max and Hannah.
